Research fellow

Dr Eva Chatzinikolaou is a research fellow in the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research - Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture. Her research focus on climate change, ocean acidification, micro-CT tomography, marine biodiversity and intertidal ecology. During her PhD she studied population dynamics, ageing, reproduction, development and marine pollution in gastropods. She is currently investigating the effects of climate change and ocean acidification on marine gastropods using experimental treatments and micro-CT tomography, after a postdoc funding award (ELIDEK, HFRI; 2018-2021). Her research has been also funded by Latsis Foundation (2014) and ASSEMBLE Programme (2012, 2013). Published 51 scientific articles and book chapters; participated in many conferences. Guest editor in BDJ and in Frontiers and JMSE Special Issues; reviewer in 20 journals; expert evaluator in EU proposals. Has wide experience on the management and implementation of international and national projects (leader in 7, participant in 16). She is the scientific coordinator of the ERFI RI LifewatchGreece and the National representative in LifeWatch ERIC. Has also participated in environmental education and citizen science awareness actions and has supervised several MSc and BSc students.
